DIY Items // Louis Vuitton Bow Headband

Let’s be real… a little bow on the head can be pretty childish, right? However, Marc Jacobs took us back to the 50′ & 60’s on the lastest Spring Summer collection from Louis Vuitton. The message was loud and clear: the Mods are back, and let’s admit it … the bow headband looked pretty chic. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to try it out so I re-created my one DYI version. Take a look, it was very easy.

Seamos realistas… un pequeño lazo sobre la cabeza puede lucir un poco infantil, cierto? Sin embargo, Marc Jacobs nos llevo de vuelta a los años 50’s – 60’s en la ultima colección Primavera Verano de Louis Vuitton. El mensaje fue bien claro; el estilo Mod esta de vuelta, y debemos admitir que el cintillo de lazo luce super chic viendolo de esa manera. No quise perder la oportunidad de intentar recrear mi propia versión de DIY. Echelen un vistazo, esta súper facil!

Materials:

• Ribbon (it can be satin, suede or cotton, it’s up to you! you will need one of 2”, one of 1/2”, one of 1/4″. One yard each ) / Cintas (pueden ser de satin, terciopelo o de algodón, necesitaras una de 2”, una de 1/2″ y una de 1/4, 1 yarda de cada una)
• Hot glue / Silicona liquida
• Scissors / Tijeras
• Plastic headband / Cintillo para la cabeza plástico

1. Using the hot glue attach the 2″ ribbon to the plastic headband starting in the center. // Usando la silicona liquida pega la cinta de 2″ pulgadas al cintillo de plastico empezando por el centro.

2. Fold the sides to the inside of the headband until everything is covered. // Doblar los extremos hacia el interior del cintillo, hasta que todo este cubierto.

3. Use the 1/2″ ribbon to cover the inner center, I folded the edges to get rid of the raw finishes. // Usando la cinta de 1/2″ pulgadas cubre la parte central del interior, yo doblé las puntas de la cita para eliminar los bordes desflecados.

4. Take the 2″ ribbon and cut a piece of approximate 8-9″ inches. Burn the edges. // Toma la cinta de 2″ pulgadas y corta un pedazo de aproximadamente de 8-9 pulgadas. Quema los bordes.

5. Fold the ribbon in half and using a needle and thread create a small gather in the middle. Attach the bow to the headband using the glue. Take the 1/2″ ribbon and cut a piece of 5″ inches. // Dobla la cinta por la mitad y usando aguja e hilo crea un pequeño frunce en el medio. Pega el lazo al cintillo con la ayuda de la silicona. Toma la cita de 1/2 pulgada y corta un pedazo de 5″pulgadas.

6. Fold the edges and attach the ribbon to the middle of the bow. // Dobla las esquinas y pega la cita en el centro del lazo.

Voila! Mission accomplish!// ¡Listo! Misión cumplida.
