My 3 Instant Methods To Be More Proactive // When the year starts it is the perfect excuse to be more proactive. But for this you need to work hard and do it wisely. Learn how to with these tips.

New year, new goals. When the year starts it is the perfect excuse to be more productive. Leave behind all the things that limit us and start working harder for the things that make us happy. But for this, you need to work hard and do it wisely. So today I want to share 3 tips + a game plan that has worked for me to be more productive and tackle by daily projects.

  1.  WAKE UP EARLY & TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

If you wake up and immediately jump into work, I assure you that your mind won’t be that productive. In my case, I was never a morning person and would rather work all night. In the last few years, I have been changing my routine and decided to start working out in the morning. The first days were horrible, but late on I started to get used to it. Doing some type of exercise in the morning has helped me be more productive, now that I have 2 hours to myself and later is when I go to work. I arrive with a clear mind and a lot more energy.

Game Plan:  For this you need to make your body go to sleep early, since it is impossible to wake up at 5:30 AM if you go to sleep at 12 AM. Choose some that you like and take those hours for yourself; dance classes, a walk, you can even go out with your dog or couple for 20 minutes and go around the block. This will help you clear your mind and be more productive. Remember that it becomes a habit after 21 days. Try it!

  1. LIST OF 3 PRIORITIES

It has happened to all of us where you wake up and think about the one thousand things you need to do. I know, it can be really overwhelming! Something I am learning to do is prioritize. Every morning I write 3 things (yes, just 3!) that need my immediate attention. I focus on these three and let the day flow by. If I finish them, perfect, I add more. I not, at the end of the day I really know that I did something and was productive enough.

Game Plan: Write the 3 most important tasks of the day (no, not all of them are REALLY important, prioritize!) Choose the ones that you need to finish yes or yes. Concentrate on them and once you finish them continue with 3 more. You will see how your mind will flow more rapidly when you concentrate on ONE THING at a time.

  1.  MOVE AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA / CELL PHONES

I think this is the hardest one of all. Today we live so tied up to our cell phone and social media that when we move away from them for a couple of minutes we feel like we can’t breathe.  (hahaha!) In the end, to be more productive I needed to lay down some rules like; mute the notifications from app or groups on whatsapp. And talking about whatsapp, I am trying to take some specific minutes of the day to reply to ALL of the chats I have. For example: early in the morning, in the mid-day and then later after I eat. The same with Instagram and it’s direct messages. The same way, I apply this to emails, only the ones that really need my immediate attention are replied instantly if not, 3 times a day.

Game Plan: Create a schedule to check on your social media and reply to all of your messages. Make sure this doesn’t take more than 10 minutes per session. You don’t have to follow my rule just like it is. Look for a way that functions for you.
