I’m Nathalia…
BUT THEY CALL ME ‘NATS’

Creative since 1987, always a lover of art, fashion, and design. I graduated in “Design of Modas” in the School of Design of Altos de Chavón (school affiliated with Parson School of Design of New York). In 2008 I moved to Milan, Italy with the dream of continuing to study and to know the world. I obtained a diploma of one year in “Design of Fashion” and a Masters in “Stylistics Editorial of Fashion” in the Institute Marangoni of Milan.

I lived for almost 4 years in this Italian city, where after my studies I focused on working in the world of fashion. I attended several fashion shows, participated in the sales campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger Italia, collaborated with independent photographers for editorial styling. I worked for a year and a half as a graphic and web designer for an Italian PR fashion company. In this latest work is that I discover my passion for blogs, social networks, and digital marketing fashion. I decided to create my own fashion blog called “The Key Item”.

In 2012, I returned to Santo Domingo and work as a designer and creative director with my sister Mariela in the brand of handmade accessories; “Ela Design Studio” in conjunction with my blog.

What Does “The Key Item” means?

I have always believed that accessories are the key to every outfit.

Thus the idea of the blog was born.

The Blog …
A HOBBIE THAT TURN INTO A FULL TIME JOB

THE KEY ITEM was born in October 2010 as a fashion blog dedicated to all kinds of accessories. I have always believed that accessories are the key piece of every outfit. However, as time passed, I also decided to focus on those “key pieces” we need to improve and have a better creative life; Becoming a Creative Lifestyle Blog.

My blog is a collection of inspirational images, information on new trends and designers; At the same time, I publish personal images of my clothes, events and street style, style guides and shopping list. You will find a lot about fashion, but also very cool publications about inspiration, lifestyle, creative workshops and varied things about my life as a freelance designer and living on a half-island in the Caribbean.

The blog has allowed me to work with national and international brands, such as Banco BHD León, Tienda Sema, Parfois, Vinos S.A., Kotex, Moroccanoil, Essie and Avene. Also, offer creative workshops to hundreds of entrepreneurs for the development of your brand or product. With this virtual store, I intend to create a space full of creative resources for new bloggers, independent brands, and entrepreneurs.
