Many people ask me if it’s worth having a blog when there is already Instagram. A platform where you can promote and influence people. Of course I like social networks, however I see them as an extension of my brand. The blog is my baby, where I sacrifice a lot to create valuable content for all of you!.

So Blogging VS Instagram? What do you think is more valuable? Here is the advantages of having a blog:

CONTENT THAT LINGERS

No matter how much time passes, your content is stored on the web. If it’s good quality content, like a very cool tutorial or really good review, you can reshare long after several seasons.

COSTS MORE.

Being on the Web means that it will last, so it’s worth more if we’re talking about money. If you work with brands, this content always costs more than a post on social media. Also, on Instagram, after 2 weeks it’s very difficult for someone to see an old post or remember it.

EASY ACCESS.

Have you ever been in that situation, where you follow someone on Instagram and they publish something super good but after a month you want to find it again in the sea of new photos? It almost impossible. Well, the good thing about having content on a blog is that it comes installed with a search engine. Where people write exactly what they are looking for no matter when you published it.

SHARE DIRECT LINK ON MULTIPLE PLATFORMS.

First of all, having a blog allows me to share my posts on other networks such as Facebook and Pinterest. Consequently, that lets you access a direct link. In addition, I can share the same post several times a day/week. Opposite on Instagram, it would be considered serious overkill.

MORE EXTENSIVE AND EXPLANATORY.

On Instagram people don’t read. Most of all, they go for photos and “quick texts”. While having a blog allows me to express myself and write more about a specific topic. Therefore I can start conversations and create a community. Can you imagine I rather publish this post in Instagram? It would kilometric! People DON’T like in Instagram.

I admit that creating quality content for the blog takes time and dedication. Did you know that a blogpost can take up to 8 hours to create? Yes, exactly how you read it. Between taking pictures, searching on the topic, writing, editing. Also, translating it into English, applying all SEO tricks and then promoting it in all networks. In conclusion, it’s not easy work, my people. That’s why you need to be passionate about it.
