Instagram is the perfect platform for promoting your brand, that being a product or service, you need to create a material that calls your clients attention. Planning out your content on Instagram is essential in order to create a successful strategy. Why should you start planning Instagram posts? First, you will be more organized. Secondly, you will be compromised. Thirdly, your followers will see consistency.

I will confess, at first I did not plan out my Instagram posts, trying to maintain everything spontaneous. But, what was happening? There were some days when I did not post anything! I used to go crazy on the last minute, running around the studio looking for content to publish, trying to remind my followers that I still exist as a brand. That was until I read about the importance of creating a strategy and start planning Instagram posts to create better content. I want to keep it natural, but to really reach out to my followers keeping in mind their interests and necessities. Once I defined this strategy, every thing has gone more smoothly.

Today I will share with you, guys, my three secrets weapons for planning Instagram posts:

  1. BRAINSTORMING IDEAS

Writing down everything is key! Ideas pop into your mind when least expect it. Has this ever happened to you? A super fabulous idea comes to mind while you’re in your car or in line at the supermarket and as soon as you get to your house, whoosh, it’s gone! Yes, I have been in this situation too. This taught me to write down my ideas as soon as possible, anywhere. In a journal, a post-it, a voice note in my cell phone, even in a napkin… in conclusion, anywhere!

2. CREATE A BALANCED CALENDAR FOR YOUR CONTENT

After I create my ideas, it’s time to put them in my calendar. It’s pointless to write them down if you don’t share them. Putting them in a calendar will allow you to start planning Instagram posts visually and balance out all of your content. For example, I wouldn’t want you to visit my Instagram and all you see are promotions for my creative workshops. That would be boring! It’s important that the content is varied and entertaining.

  1. USE A VISUAL PLANIFICATION APP

After organizing a calendar, it’s important that my Instagram theme looks coherent. I make sure that the photos have different angles and the colors match. Also, I like the images to have a visual coherence if we look at them as a group. For this, I use an app that allows me to organize my Instagram photos visually named Planoly. It has a free trial, then you have to pay a monthly fee. To me, it’s worth the investment because you can start planning Instagram posts from the computer and manage various accounts. Other options are UNUM (free) and Later (more economical).
