If you don’t where to start, fear not more Adri shares 5 tips and a special bonus at the end of this post.

Branding is a word that is frequently used, however with much confusion involved. But if we are sure of something, it’s that branding is vital to promote and highlight any product successfully.

As a definition, we could say that the personal branding involves articulating a clear and simple message to communicate constantly who you are doing, to associate an idea, a market or a profession.

How to write, how you interact with people, how you present yourself on social media and how you dress are all elements that are part of your brand.

There is a whole process behind defining and developing a personal brand. Today I bring you 5 tips (and a bonus you’ll love it!) That taking them into account, they can help you develop your personal branding and achieve your goals.

Personal Branding | 5 Tips To Develop Your Brand

1. BE ORIGINAL.

Authenticity is the key to breaking noise in the market. Find what you’ve that makes you different from others and use it as the main element in your efforts.

Action: Identify a word, figure or any style you apart. For example, Paloma de la Cruz took the concept of “fashion blogger living in paradise” and made it the center of her personal branding. She took her two favorite things in the world, fashion and beach, and combined them to create a personal signature.

2. PERSONAL BRANDING IS A JOURNEY, NOT AN EVENT.

Being authentic will not take you anywhere, if you don’t have consistency. Develop a uniform visual across your website, your social media and all your interactions to stay consistent in your personal branding. It gives you credibility, and guarantees that consumers will recognize and be more likely to consume your product.

Action: Are you communicating the same for all your channels? Do you have the same graphic line on your social media and website? Do they communicate the same message? Evaluate your efforts and try to keep all your channels cohesive.

3. SHOW YOUR HUMAN SIDE.

Human beings like to interact with other human beings, not ideas or brands. The best way to build trust in your personal branding is presenting yourself as who you are.

Action: Share your story, your dreams and even your fears. For more beautiful that your logo is, placed a friendly and professional photo on your channels (social, your website, your WhatsApp …).

4. DO SMALL THINGS AND DO IT WELL

There is a famous phrase that applies perfectly to this case: “jack of all trades, master of none.” Wanting to do everything will not allow us to be excellent at anything specific, so trying to offer too many services is not a good idea.

Action: Define your scope and not be tempted to dilute and to make everyone happy. At the end of the day, that much does not catch anything.

5. INVESTS IN YOUR PRODUCT.

Often we don’t want to invest for fear that the investment does not cause the difference and prefer to do some things ourselves. Regardless of the industry in which you’re working; delegate some of your responsibilities, or seek help to improve some part of your personal branding. This will always save time, headaches and add value to your offer.

Action: What areas do you feel you need support? What can you improve? Take a course, join a group or hire the services of a professional.

BONUS! DEFINE YOUR PERSONAL VISION

To position yourself as an expert in what you do, it’s vital that you handle yourself as a brand that sells a product (hint: that’s you). For that, define your vision is one of the most important steps because it’ll provides you a north and ensures that your brand, your efforts and your eye be directed to the same message.

So we created this worksheet to help you start and gain clarity in what you do. Sounds amazing, right?
