4 Challenges I’ve Joined And Why You Should Too
Here there are, the New Year’s resolutions! I must admit I am one of those who like to do a list, and as I published the other day on instagram I believe you should always writing them down. If I tell you that I’ve stayed true to the whole list throughout the year, it would be a lie. But it’s true that when I write them down, it helps me to carry them out as much as possible. Recently, I found my resolutions for 2014 and I noticed I achieved some of them by the end of the year. Which makes me very proud. Many people say that making a list of resolutions is silly, but I think it’s worth trying.
This year I decided to join some challenges that I saw on social media. The good thing about this type of challenges is that you make it with a community, and you don’t feel alone. And when you start to forgetting your purpose or want to give up, a tweet, a facebook message or an email appears in front of you as a remainder. So here there are, 4 challenges I’ve joined and why you should too.
1. The team from RIE have created a challenge to document 52 weeks of 2015. It consists of taking photos, collecting them, print them out and then put them on a photo album. This is a Project Life, I’ve talked a bit more about it on THIS article.
Why is worth it:
I love to take lots of photos, and then they stay on my computer or cell phone. With the digital era, we completely forget about them and then when we want to relive those moments, it’s so complicated to find them. Also, if you’re not a fan of taking lots of pictures, this challenge will help you to get out of your comfort zone and enjoy the little things. There are so many small moments of our life that are worth documenting.
2. A few months ago I started this challenge: to drink eight 8 oz. glasses of water, and then I saw it on The Everygirl as a 30 days challenge during the month of January. Perfect to stay in track. You can enter the hashtag #TEG30DayChallenge to get the idea.
Why is worth it:
We all know that h2O is essential to lose weight, stay hydrated, reduces appetite and helps for a better skin, keeps you active and alert. Try taking lemon with water every morning, or do some water infusions to have some diversity.
3. Tone it Up is a fitness blog/website by two Californian girls, Karina & Katrina. I’ve been follow them for a year now and I must admit they have helped me to stay motivated and to get up to go to the gym. They have announced their 3rd edition of the challenge “Love Your Body”, they invite you to change your lifestyle for six weeks, start eating healthy, do the video exercises they post on You Tube and complete 100 miles (approx. 160 km) in physical activity from here to Valentine’s day.
Why is worth it:
This is a super community. Every week they share true story of transformations, plus you will receive a weekly calendar directly to your email. They host giveaways, share recipes and best of all, you don’t have to register in the gym. All exercises can be done from the comfort of your living room, in the park or any outdoor area.
I’ve being practicing the Art of Lettering for a while, (remember my experience with Chalk Lettering?). Miranti is a designer and creator of the blog Pen + Peplum and she has started a weekly project: a lettering every week throughout the year (52 in total), each month she will announced a prompt for every week and you are free to interpret as you want.
Why is worth it:
Every artist should practice a lot. I like that this challenge is weekly, because it can be difficult to do it on a daily basis if you are a beginner. It is a way to release stress, practice and also join a community. You can post your lettering on social media and share it using the hashtag #52handlettered. It’s a nice way to meet more people who are doing it too and also it’s a way to publicize your work.
So there you have it, 4 challenges to try out. Who’s in?
