But while my dream of finding my “enchanted shoemaker” becomes a reality there are others that can make it possible. CAMILLA SKOVGAARD

Born in Denmark and graduated in Footwear Design from Cordwainers and the Royal College of Art in London. Camilla started her career in Dubai when she was 20 years old, until she moved to London and began studying the art of making shoes. Saks Fifth Avenue in US bought her first collection while she was a student. Her aesthetic is edgy and unconventional made with high quality. In her designs, she emphasis on materials and shapes rather than decoration.

APERLAÏ

Founded in 2009 by Alessandra Lanvin. The brand name comes from an ancient Lycian city in Turkey. Alessandra worked in the Luxury industry in Paris before starting as a footwear designer. Her pieces are made up of pure, contrasting and asymmetrical lines. Inspired by vintage pieces and the art of Pollock, Picasso and Mondrian. Despite being designed in France, the shoes are craftmade by great Italian artisans. Aperlaï offers a wide variety of shoes, from high heels to Geisha-type of heel made with exotic skins.

BIONDA – CASTANA

It’s a British brand formed by two college friends, Jennifer Portman and Natalia Barbieri, both English and half-Italians. The brand name is in Italian and comes from their nickname -“Blonde Brunette; how they used to call them in college. The brand is a combination of the coolness of London with the craftsmanship of Italy. It was created in 2007 and it’s already famous among celebrities such as Elizabeth Olsen and Keira Knightley. Their pieces are recognized by the use of studs, woven in silk, velvet and lace. They describe each design as unique, feminine and distinctive without losing the feeling of comfort.
