The Ultimate Day Trip to Santiago City
The trip started at 8 AM; destination: Santiago, located in the north-central region of the Republic known as Cibao valley. My family from my mother’s side live there, so since I was a little girl I visit regularly.
This time we decided to do somethings different, first we took a ride on the new highway to Puerto Plata and stopped there to take some pictures, then we had lunch and share a couple of cool beers to deal with the hot weather. Later, a friend of mine took us to “Mercato”, a new bar in town with a very eclectic and bohemian style. At night, we went to the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration (located on a hill in the middle of Santiago, with spectacular views of the city and surrounding mountains. It also has a surrounding park and it is an attractive place at night) together with our cousins, while we enjoyed the music and sipped exotic coconut mojitos.
I knew I needed to be confortable because I was spending all day on the road. These shoes have been my salvation, they’re from Forever 21 and as you might seen on instagram I’m really loving them (haha!) My look was pretty simple; a dainty skirt with a basic T-shirt. However, I decided to style them with a couple of accessories and voilá! Everything looked more interesting, that’s why I believe they’re key items to complement any outfit… don’t you think?
Enjoy the photos of my one day trip to Santiago City and if you have been here, please share some new places so I can visit next time I go.
