How To Style a Knit Sweater // Fall Look #1
Fall and spring are my favorite seasons. I never get used to the hot summer and when I lived abroad I hated the long days of winter. Many people think that because I live on a tropical island is impossible to experience the change of season. However, if you look into the little details, time begins to change and the nights are usually longer and cooler. Even the windows displays change, and it is true that perhaps I can’t wear tall boots and gloves, but there are plenty other elements that I could take into considerations to reinvent my wardrobe.
I’ve learned that the key is to look beyond the weight of the items and look into the color palettes, textures, patterns and styles. Looking at the runways you’ll discover trends you can apply not matter where your live, doen’t matter if it’s Siberia or Jamaica. Do not you know where to start? No problem! In collaboration with Forever21, I’ve the mission to show you a couple of fall looks that I (and you, if you live in the same condition) can use in this tropical weather. I will be using a ‘key piece’ that will be featured in all looks; this oversize knit sweater. I liked it because it has short sleeves and the fabric is open (ie, the thread is not too tight) so that makes it more “light” and perfect for the mission!
For this first fall look I decided to play with a sober color palette and neutral tones. I chose pieces with lightweight fabric (the pants are in cotton), semi transparent and short sleeves (the blouse is made of an embroidery eyelet). It helped me feel more comfortable when I put the sweater over, and I didn’t feel like I was drowning. This option can be used to go to the office and then hit a bar for “happy hour”.Even better, if it’s a rainy day! Don’t you think?
