Best Gift For A Fashion Creative

OMG, why nobody gave me this book when I was 12 or 22?! Doesn’t matter! I got it at 27 .. and that’s ok!

So remember I told you I bought some really cool books while I was in San Francisco? Well, this one has been breath-taking!!!! And as you can see I’m using a lot of exclamation points (!!!!), that means I’m really exited because this is the best gift for a fashion creative or any one who would like to stay inspired, be creative and release stress. Oh yes, you have read correctly! Many medical studies reveal that drawing helps with relaxation, break the anxiety and take away the anger. Have you noticed how children can stay so calm when you give them some colored pencils and a piece of paper? I remember when I was I kid, I could be all day drawing, sketching, and making “cool” designs for my barbie dolls (I know, it sounds cliché but it’s true!)

Now, back to the book. This is a well-illustrated and sophisticated fashion book by Nina Chakrabarti for kids and grow ups. It has tons of fashion sketches that you need to complete and colored in. The cover really caught my attention. It’s made in a very nice recycled paper and the title is printed in a golden texture. The book encourages you to create patterns, put sequins on and paste texture. Each page tells you what you need to do, make the assignment as you like and be creative. There is not a right or wrong answer. This is not an art class either. Nobody is giving you a grade. Just lose yourself and enjoy, who knows? You could be an amazing fashion designer and didn’t know it.
