How to add ‘The Key Item’ as an App Icon
Hello, guys! Today I want to show you a super cool tech trick. Can you see that black icon next to the one that says “Weather” on the picture above? Well that’s my blog App Icon, pretty awesome, right? So everytime, I click on that icon it will open my blog’s website with the lastest post, without having to look for it on Safari. Super easy and practical.
I’ll show how you can add my blog on your phone or tablet, so you can go and read all blogposts without wasting any time. This can be done with other websites too, just make sure they have the App Icon service installed with mobile devices… Aaaaaahh Hallelujah (<- insert voices of angels singing in chorus), for the 21st Century!
- Open Safari on you cell phone and enter the website URL in the top bar. In my case, I recommend you to write www.thekeyitem.com/blog, so you will have all the blogpost as your main page. This will be updated every time I make a new publication.
- Then tap on the middle button located at the bottom, known as the button for “Save” or “Share”
- Tap on the third icon with the plus sign(+) located on the second row, that says “Add to Home screen”
- You can rename the app if you want.
- Click “Add” at the top right corner.
- Automatically, the app icon will be added to your Home Screen next to your other applications. I told you it was pretty easy, right?
NOTE: I read that you can do this on any Android device too, you just have to find the option in the menu that says “Add to Home Screen” and that’s it. I used my iPhone for this tutorial because it is the device that I own. Android users, let me know if it works.
