An Easy Way to Layer Up in Spring
I live on a tropical island, so you might think it’s almost impossible for me to wear layers . However, I have found a way to layer up in Spring without feeling like I’m melting from the inside. This trick is perfect for summer weather too.
The key is to find the right fabric. Yes, as simple as that. You need to start paying attention to the material of your items. Your allies will always be lightweight cotton and linen with fine threads or transparencies. So even if you have several layers of clothing, the fabric will not be attached to your body.
In the photos, I’m wearing a short lace dress (you can also see it HERE and HERE) with a transparent blouse. I put on the blouse underneath to bring out the neckline color. From a distance it looks as it’s part of the dress, right? This trick is great to give versatility to your pieces and play with different combinations. Also, I left my legs uncovered and the shirt was sleeveless, so the whole outfit was pretty fresh. You can try this with light sweaters over shirts or dresses to accomplish a total new look, it’s also a cool way to layer up in Spring.
Remember to always think ahead about where you are going. Because if you’re going to walk around the city in the middle of the morning to run errands, it doesn’t matter if you have a light fabric, you will still feel uncomfortable. I wore this look for a date at the Colonial Zone in a late afternoon and it felt just right. So take these factors into consideration before choosing this technique.
