Why You Need To Promote Your Brand On Snapchat
“Oh, Snapchat! Really, another social network?” – I thought the same thing when they mentioned it to me. “Do I really need another social network to promote my brand?” – I wondered. After too much thinking, I decided to download it and then I had no idea how to use it. If you feel the same, start looking for a cousin/daughter/nephew between the ages of 15- 20 and ask them for a quick tutorial on how to understand Snapchat. I promise you, it is not as difficult as it might seen.
After giving it the opportunity, I started thinking about new ideas how Snapchat can be useful for my business and blog . Why among all other social networks you need to promote your brand on Snapchat? If you need some encourage, here are my 5 reasons:
- IT’S SHINY NEW: The application has over one hundred billion users since 2014. However, it’s a new social network for brands, so there is less competition (compared to Facebook and Instagram). It’s a great opportunity if you want to promote you brand on Snapchat as it gives you a chance to experience and start gaining followers.
- IT’S GENUINELY REAL: I think this is one of the most important reasons. Snapchat only lets you post images and video for maximum 10 seconds and there are not too many filters , which allows you to be super real without much editing. You can use emoji or make doodles around you photos to show the personality of your brand. Remember that the real and human side behind a brand is what makes it authentic in the pile.
- ACCURATE STATISTICS: Snapchat can’t give you a very deep statistics of your followers; ie: age, geography or profession. However, it lets you see how many views a photo or video had, and if someone made a screenshot. So believe it or not, this means a lot for a brand because they are actual members. Unlike other networks, you don’t get “likes” which, nowdays, are no longer as valuable or accurate as before.
- YOUNG AND ENERGETIC AUDIENCE: Most Snapchat audience is under 25, and it’s what makes the application a fun environment. If your brand or product has this kind of target or want to get try to speak to them, you need to start promote your brand on Snapchat ASAP!. Studies confirm that young people see Snapchat as their primary social network for daily use.
- CONTENT IN REAL TIME: What makes it interesting to promote your brand on Snapchat is that the content is instant. It can’t be “too staged” as in Instagram or Facebook. You can feel free to share any event of your brand / blog in real time with all the photos and videos you like, to create an interesting visual story. It’s like having your own reality show in an app.
