When I returned from Milan, I use to work from home for an Italian company. Among many Skype calls and thousands of back and forth emails, we made it for a full year. Working from home may sound fun, but believe me it took me time to adapt so I had to find a way that it will work effectively without feeling overwhelmed.

If you work from home or you want to start to do this you have to do it efficiently, today I ‘ll share my 5 tips to keep you inspired while you work from home.

  • GET UP EARLY: Put your alarm and get up early, before 8 am. Not only your body will get used to have a morning routine, but you will work as the real world.
  • TAKE A BATH & PUT SOME CLOTHES: Sounds tempting to spend all day in pijamas, but not it’s not the most appropriate. When you wake up make everything you will do as if you had to go to an office.
  • FIND A SPACE & DECORATE IT: That means do not work on the bed or sofa. If you want to work from home practically you should find a professional sitting space. Take the opportunity to decorate with motivational phrases, pictures and flowers.
  • SET OUT A SCHEDULE: I remember when I was working from home I simply didn’t pick up the phone in the house or did some other home activity to distract me; like doing laundry or washing the dishes. Define a schedule and try to follow it.
  • TAKE A BREAK & GO OUT Believe it or not when work from home it can become very overwhelming as you feel that “you are always at work,” you might spend days alone without interacting with other people or going out to the streets; this is not healthy. As I said in the previous tip, set a schedule for work but also take breaks to do other activities outside the house

    Tengo dos años trabajando nicky’s Idea desde la casa. Tengo mis espacio, que me encanta, pero no te puedo negar, que como soy también ama de casa, los quehaceres matutinos me distraen muchísimo y muchas veces, no me permite sentarme a la misma hora a trabajar. He puesto, como rutina de trabajo, trabajar de tarde, ya que he realizado todo en el día y tengo ese tiempo libre, solo para producir Nicky’s idea. He hecho eso que dices, de salir de la casa: Salgo a caminar y hago mi rutina de ejercicios y muchas veces, salgo con una amiga, para tomar café y distraerme de las cosas de la casa y del trabajo.
