Bike Riding with Zona Bici
A few weeks ago, Mariela and I decided to something different in the city; bike riding with Zona Bici. For many people who come from other places like the United States or Europe would think there is nothing special about this; however, here in the Dominican Republic it’s not as easy as it seems. Among the messy traffic, the hot Caribbean sun and the lack of security on the streets, it’s unlikely to find people casually riding bikes .
Zona Bici. is a new bike rental service in the Colonial District of Santo Domingo. The cost is $ 300 Dominican pesos per hour (approx. $ 6.5 dollars), bicycles are super cute (I mean… perfect for pictures!), they have different sizes and options for all ages. We really loved the idea. Mari and I are not used to ride normal bikes, so we decided to rent the tricycle to avoid damage to third parties (hahaha!). Please, hydrate and wear something comfortable. It’s not only a perfect activity for tourists but also for locals to do something different and out of the ordinary between friends, couples and families members.
