How To Make A DIY Emoji Jewelry Plate
You guys know how much I love DIY projects. That’s why I asked Shiny from Je Suis Brillant to make this super cool and fun project! Specially now for the holidays. Learn how to make this amazing emoji jewelry plate. You can make it for yourself or share them with you friends. Ok, let’s do this!
Helloo from Nathalia’s blog! Shiny from Je suis Brillant writes to you this time and I have the honor to show you guys a #KeyItemDIY super fun to make: an emoji jewelry plate for rings!
I picked this magical emoji because, after the unicorn one, it’s my favorite! Also, we are in the magical era: Christmas! (Well, at least I am!)
What do you need for the Jewelry Plate?
- Clay (can be powdered or in putty)
- Flexible plastic or silicone board
- Pain (White and yellow)
- Brushes
- Spatula
- Wooden Roll
- Water sandpaper
- Round mold or a bottle cap
- Latex gloves (this is optional, if you have long fingernails like me, protects them from the dirt that clay can cause)
- Newspaper
- STEP 1: First of all, Take a piece of clay the size of your fist and then proceed to make a sphere shape. (NOTE: If the clay is too watery let is air out for 15 minutes.)
- STEP 2: When it becomes a sphere of a consistent mass, put over plastic board.
- STEP 3: Flatten out with wooden roller until you get a good size. (in conclusion, the thickness of the paste must be the same)
- STEP 4: If the top of the clay is not flat, pass the spatula over it until you get a flat and smooth texture. In addition, with the round mold cut out 4 times in the form of the emoji. (see image)
- STEP 5: Later, take away the remains and proceed to take the clay off the board.
- STEP 6: With your thumb dent the center and put the figure out to dry on a flat plastic surface.
- STEP 7: Now dry, proceed to even out the surface with sandpaper to take away the imperfections. Rather, with a dry cloth, wipe off excess dust.
- STEP 8: Paint with white paint as a base.
- STEP 9: Mix the dark paint with the white paint (1 tablespoon of the yellow paint + 1/8 of the white paint) and proceed to painting.
- STEP 10: After it dries, paint the edges with the yellow paint too, yet WITHOUT the white paint and TADA! Place your rings on the plates!
I hope have fun (and make a huge mess) like I did making this DIY Jewelry Plate! Most of all, it was a pleasure coming by the blog!
