How I’m Dealing With Anxiety & Work Pressure
I don’t know if you’ve noticed that I’ve been a little bit absent in both the blog and social media. Today I have a little personal post I want to share, I hesitated whether I should share it or not, but then I thought about all the people who may be feeling like me and do not know how to deal with this.
I ‘m one of those people that take in so many projects one at a time, and then I’m dealing with anxiety and professional pressure. Later, I end up more exhausted without enjoying the process. I’m not going to lie saying that everything has changed overnight, but it is something that I’m working on. I found this quote: “Big things happen a day at a time” and I thought it was perfect for my current situation and maybe for others too.
Currently, I’ m involved in a very important project for Ela Design Studio, where so much time and money has been invested and it’s taking almost 100% of my life. So I’m dealing with anxiety and work pressure with this project. Believe me, it has not be easy but I want to share the things I’m doing to feel better and not lose my mind:
- “One day at a time”: I had to accept what I can not do it all together, and believe me it can be difficult because many believe that this is a symbol of failure or weakness, however, it has helped me to be more relaxed, and focus on one or two projects at a time. This means; i’ve rejected new proposals for the time and decrease a little work on the blog. Trying to remember that the important thing is quality, not quantity.
- Time for me: Usually when I’m overwhelmed with hard work, I focus on just that and nothing more, that’s BAD!. I’m trying to spare a few minutes for me. I’m not a morning person (I made a confession here) but I’m trying to get up early and go to the gym. I’ve noticed that I’m calmer and more productive in the day whenever I do that. No matter what it is, take a few hours for you; either go to the beauty salon, fix your nails, go for a coffee with a friend, read a book, etc.
- Keeping everything organize: When I feel anxious, I need to put something in order. Organize the closet, clean my purse, keep my work area impeccable , etc. It sounds a little strange, but just knowing that I “made a goal of organize something” and achieve it in a short period of time, gives me a certain joy and peace, it doesn’t matter how small it may be. Also, keeping your work area away from chaos, it is perfect to liberate the mind.
I know that every person is dealing with anxiety differently, and I’m still working on it but it’s something I wanted to share. Remember, big things happen one day at a time. How do you control anxiety? What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? All opinions are welcome.
